Many on the Israeli right and their supporters here think "if we show we are willing to kill our enemies, no matter what the cost, it will show our bravery" ... but, part of the problem is that such a willingness to attack actually sends a message that Israelis are cowardly, as per Shaw's quote.
I hadn't gone that far, alberich. I was concentrating on the apalling website. Having just reread the play the quote was the first thing that came to mind.
